Cultivation & harvest
Peach trees are preferably planted in warm, full-sun locations. In addition, a soil rich in nutrients and humus is chosen. An important role for optimal development and growth of the fruit is the water supply in the summer months, which ensures that the peaches grow large and do not fall prematurely. Depending on the variety, the peaches are ready for harvesting in the period from July to August.
Use
Peaches can be eaten raw but also made into jam, juice and hot dishes.
Storage
If the fruits are already very ripe, they should be eaten without delay. Due to their high water content, they are very delicate and bruise easily. Ripe peaches should be stored in the fridge. However, if the fruit is not yet ripe, they can be allowed to ripen at room temperature and then eaten immediately.
